Keeping our Neighborhoods Safe & Secure
Manpower in our police & fire departments is low. Currently we have 75 firefighters and
we need 6 additional to have the 19 man shifts that give us and them the full protection
that is needed. Currently we have 96 police officers andwe need 9 additional to bring us
to the 105 that we should have.

Protecting Our Seniors
We have many seniors that want to stay in their homes. We must provide adequate help
to keep them there.

Our Property Values
All of our properties are in jeopardy when you have foreclosed & abandoned homes
everywhere you turn. We must aggressively go after the property owners to bring their
"investments" to code or they will be torn down.

Community Development
Continue to aggressively bring in outside businesses to help rebuild our community.

HOW DO WE DO THIS ?

Council has to find the way to hire the police officers & firefighters
to bring both up to an acceptable level.

Availability of more chore workers & van drivers will help our seniors
with their everyday needs.

Property values and community development go hand in hand. We must revisit having
two separate departments. You need a Development Director that spends his time doing
just that, and you need a Housing Director that can focus on what is necessary
to resolve the issues of blight in our neighborhoods.

All of this will cost money there is no question about it but it is up to city council to find a
way to do it. The old saying about you have to spend money to make money is true. In
our case we must hire the staff needed to bring Euclid back to a place where people
want to move to, not out of. Decisions have to be made that some may not agree with
but what is good for the City as a whole is the most important job they have to do.
