MADELINE'S ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Chair of the Euclid Animal Shelter Commission & Euclid Pet Pals, (successfully reopened in 2003). Established a relationship with Euclid Business Park & Handl-It to create the Handl-It With Care Project. Successfully obtained over $18,000 worth of household merchandise to distribute to Euclid families and Euclid organizations. Led the charge to revitalize 3 platgrounds in the old Ward 4. Successfully improved 3 different neighborhoods. As president of the Heritage Park Association, led the charge to put 3 different local options on the ballot. Successfully saw a significant drop in crime and nuisance traffic along Euclid Avenue with the passage of both options. Fought to keep Fire Station No. 2 open. Worked with Councilman Chris Gruber to get a new fire station onto Council agenda. Initiated talks with Euclid Business Park to obtain property for basketball. Successful in helping to get started PAL basketball, the West End Mini-Station and a new tots playground. |
